Although residents commit to stay at Graduate House by semester, the lodging fee is charged and paid on monthly basis (based on calendar month) to alleviate residents’ burden.

The lodging fee will be counted on pro-rata basis for the first month.

Lodging fee debit note will be issued to students via the HKU Portal after the commencement of the stipulated residential period by the Finance and Enterprises Office. Residents need to pay the lodging fee according to the instruction.

Lodging fee does not include electricity expense, which is to be charged according to the actual amount of electricity consumed by the residents and the latest tariff rates set by the Hong Kong Electric Company Limited and the current minimum charge each month is HK$43.70 irrespective of which day of the month the resident moves in.

Both rental and electricity charges plus any other miscellaneous charges are settled on monthly basis.  A monthly statement for the payable charges will be issued to each resident.

Unlike lodging fee payment, residents need to pay the electricity and miscellaneous charges via auto payment bank accounts.

You should complete and submit the “Direct Debit Authorization” form at your own bank in Hong Kong.
